While 30 yachts were launched in Antalya Free Zone in 2021, the revenue of 125 million dollars was obtained. The total production of the yacht industry in Antalya Free Zone, one of the most important super luxury yacht centers in the world, reached 510 super luxury yachts and a revenue of 1 billion 403 million dollars.
Production of super luxury yachts and boats, Antalya Free Zone ranks first in Turkey, which is the 3rd in the world after Italy and the Netherlands. Antalya, followed by Tuzla and Bodrum, has turned into the most important yacht manufacturing center in Turkey and the Eastern Mediterranean with investments in a travel lift with a capacity of 560 tons, a 300-meter dock and a ship lift with a yacht capacity of 2 thousand-90 meters, which came into service last year. There is a significant increase in orders in the yacht sector with these investments.
Zeki Gürses, General Manager of Antalya Free Zone Inc. (ASBAŞ), who stated that nearly 50 companies operate in the yacht sector in the region, announced that 30 new süper-luxury yachts were completed last year and an income of 125 million dollars was provided. Gürses said that the total production of the yacht industry, which started in the 2000s and developed rapidly in the region, has reached 510 super luxury yachts and the total income has increased to 1 billion 403 million dollars. Gürses said, “The total length of the 510 yachts was 9,750 meters.”
Maintenance and repair revenues
Noting that the yachts produced in the region are sent to countries such as the USA, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Senegal and South Africa, ASBAŞ Manager Gürses stated that he has started to see serious demand in the field of maintenance and repair in recent years. Gürses said that a total of 142 boats have been taken for maintenance and repair so far, 127 of them have been completed and delivered, an income of 49 million dollars has been provided.
