The office, Noatum said, will serve as an important step towards broadening the company’s reach in key regional markets.
Ömür Kuyucuoglu has been appointed country manager at Noatum Maritime, with the Turkish entity primarily serving as a port and liner agency. It will deliver integrated services at every stage of maritime operation from its locations in Istanbul and Izmir.
The opening of the Noatum Maritime office in Türkiye builds upon the local and regional presence of Noatum Logistics – East Europe, Türkiye and CIS, which is also based in Istanbul. It also aligns with AD Ports Group’s plans for international expansion across major global markets and trade lanes already connect to, or offering strong prospects for, the UAE.
Last year, Türkiye strengthened ties with the UAE with the signing of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), which came into force in September 2023. Among other measures, the agreement aims to promote bilateral trade and investment by removing or reducing tariffs and trade barriers, establishing a free trade area, and providing an enhanced market access for UAE companies and service providers.
Terry Gidlow, ceo of Noatum Maritime, said: “The establishment of our Türkiye office enables Noatum Maritime to expand its geographical reach, following our growth strategy and fostering deeper engagement with our existing clients. The office will seamlessly integrate into the broader Noatum ecosystem, aiming to deliver integrated maritime agency services better, faster and more cost efficiently, while also attracting new customers in the Türkiye and the East Mediterranean region.”
