A large-scale prisoner-of-war exchange took place between Russia and Ukraine. Russia released 108 women while Ukraine released 110 people, 72 of them seafarers.
Another prisoner-of-war exchange took place between Russia and Ukraine. Moscow released 108 Ukrainian women while Kyiv released 110 Russian sailors, most of whom were on board commercial vessels in Ukraine.
One of the largest prisoner-of-war exchanges took place between Russia and Ukraine on February 28. Ukrainian Presidential Office Head Andrey Yermak said in a statement on his social media account that 108 Ukrainian women were released by the Russians in line with the prisoner-of-war exchange agreement with Russia.
“A large-scale prisoner-of-war exchange took place today. We have liberated 108 women who are especially special to us. This was the first all-female exchange.” Yermak said, adding that 12 of the released women were civilians and the rest were soldiers.
In the statement made by the Russian Ministry of Defense, it was announced that 110 people were taken back in line with the prisoner-of-war exchange agreement with Ukraine, and as a result of the negotiations, 110 people were returned, 72 of whom were sailors, who were held by the Kyiv regime since February 2022.
