SANMAR Shipyards continues to be a pioneer in the tug industry’s transition to a sustainable low- and zero-emission future by carrying out the cutting of dual-fuel – diesel/methanol – tugs, which will be the first in the world.
RAsalvor 4400-DFM, specially designed by Robert Allan for Sanmar and KOTUG requirements, will serve for Canada’s Trans Mountain Expansion Project (TMEP).
The unique tugs, which will be operated by KOTUG Canada, will be the first tugs Sanmar has built for the Netherlands-based international operator.
SD AISEMAHT and SD QWII-AAN’C SARAH
The two tugboats built at Sanmar’s shipyard in Altınova will be named SD AISEMAHT and SD QWII-AAN’C SARAH.
These tugs, which are planned to be put into service in 2025, will be Canada’s most powerful tugboats. They will have a towing capacity of 120 tonnes and will also provide environmental benefits by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and significantly reducing noise emitted underwater.
