In the Antalya Free Zone, whose trade volume in March was 122 million dollars, 20 yachts were produced in three months.
According to the statement made by Antalya Serbest Bölge Kurucu ve İşleticisi AŞ (Antalya Free Zone Founder and Operator Inc.-ASBAŞ), the total number of sea vehicles produced since 2000 has reached 532.
The production of 20 yachts was completed in the January-March period and delivered to their owners at the port, where 88 companies, 29 of which are with foreign capital, operating in the region.
The trade volume of Antalya Free Zone, which employs 5,881 people in total, was 122 million dollars in March. Compared to the trade volume, which was 89 million dollars in the same month of the previous year, there was an increase of 37 percent this year.
Trade volume, which was 208 million dollars as of the end of March last year, increased to 311 million dollars in the same period of this year.
The Russia-Ukraine war increased demand for the region
Demand for the Antalya Free Zone, which has its port and has a more advantageous location than many free zones in terms of logistics, increased after the Russia-Ukraine war.
Since the beginning of the war, the occupancy rate in ASBAŞ has reached 100 percent, together with the investors from Russia and Ukraine.
On the other hand, ASBAŞ’s “Travel Lift, Ship Lift and Dock Investments Project” was deemed worthy of the 2022 Jury Special Award in the Contest for Those Who Add Importance to the City (KÖK) organized by the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
