After Oslofjord I and Oslofjord II, Sefine Shipyard is sending off to Norway the third of 5 electric ferries it has built for the Norwegian shipping company Boreal.
The hybrid ferry M/V OSLOFJORD III, which can carry 354 passengers and will serve the islands in the Oslo Fjord, has a length of 35 meters and a width of 8 meters. The electric ferry, which incorporates environmentally friendly and innovative technologies, has a hybrid engine with a battery capacity of 1017 kWh.
There are two environmentally friendly Tier III type generators on the environmentally friendly ferry M/V OSLOFJORD III. In addition, the ferry can run on biodiesel fuel.
Sefine Shipyard signed an agreement with the Norwegian Boreal company in 2020 to build five electric ferries and sent the first of the series, the M/V Oslofjord I, to Norway in December 2021 and the M/V Oslofjord II at the end of February 2022.
