Transbosphor Denizcilik (Shipping), one of Turkey’s leading shipping agencies, does not leave the seafarers of the future alone. Transbosphor Denizcilik (Shipping) has recently undertaken the sponsorship of the 21st National Mermaid Congress, which will be held by the Seafarer Students Association (DÖDER).
Support is our debt
Engineer Nuri Mert Can, Deputy General Manager of Transbosphor Denizcilik, pointed out that maritime is a growing sector as it becomes institutionalized and said, “We must support students who are the guarantee of the Turkish maritime of the future”. Stating that maritime, unlike most professions, should continue its brother-sisterhood feature, Can said that he believed that the events organized by the students of maritime education would contribute to this.
We are the only association in the World
Kadir Işık, the president of DÖDER, thanked Transbosphor Denizcilik for its unwavering support from the 21st National Mermaid Congress and said, “We are very happy to see them always next to young sailors. As young seafarers, we always feel their support. We aim to add a vision to Turkish maritime with the congress, in which 400 students from 53 maritime faculties and colleges will participate.” Işık stated that the Seafarer Students Association, which has been operating since 1999, is the only non-governmental organization established for maritime students both in Turkey and in the world.
The date of the 21st Mermaid Congress, which was organized by the Seafarer Students Association but postponed due to the pandemic, is expected to be announced in the coming days.
