Arkas appointed new captains to the ships in its fleet during the week of March 8, International Women’s Day.
Dilek Altay, who started her duty as an intern in the Arkas Merchant Marine Fleet in 2008, was appointed as the captain after completing all her officer duties in the fleet.

Diane Arcas Göçmez, Arkas Holding Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Arkas Logistics Services Group President, and Ali İbrahim Kontaytekin, Arkas Maritime Fleet Vice President, announced her appointment to Captain Dilek Altay.

On the other hand, Diane Arcas Göçmez, Arkas Holding Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Arkas Logistics Services Group President, made a statement at the event titled “Women Who Draw the Route of Maritime Talks”, organized by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure General Directorate of Maritime, on the occasion of March 8, International Women’s Day. Stating that they attach importance to equality, she explained that although their main business lines are maritime, logistics, and port management, the rate of women working within the Arkas group is as high as 41 percent.
