M / V OSLOFJORD II (NB47), the second of 5 hybrid ferries built by Sefine Shipyard for the Norwegian company Boreal, is ready to sail towards Oslo.
The 35 meters long and 8 meters wide ferry, which will serve the islands in the Oslo Fjord, can carry 354 passengers.
The electric ferry, which incorporates environmentally friendly and innovative technologies, has a hybrid engine with a battery capacity of 1017 kWh.
The ships that will run on electricity will have two environmentally friendly Tier III type generators, and besides these generators, the ships can also run on biodiesel fuel.
Sefine Shipyard delivered M/V Oslofjord I, the first of the 5-series ship, at the beginning of last December.
Sefine and the Boreal company signed an agreement to build five electric ferries in 2020.
The ferries will operate on Ruter and the Oslo Fjord islands.
