Norse Group has shipped the hull of the ferryboat, which is built as part of a joint project with Norway-based Westcon Shipyard, to Norway.
The double-ended aluminum body of the Ryfylke ferryboat, built for Norled AS, was delivered to Westcon YARDS AS. The ferryboat will serve on behalf of Kolumbus AS near Stavanger after her deficiencies are completed at Westcon YARDS AS.
The ferryboat named Ryfylke has one of the largest battery packs mounted on a small ship. She will be able to serve all day and charge all night by providing zero-emission transportation even in places where the electricity grid cannot be upgraded.
