Sinan Sümer and Tolga Pamir, the athletes of OMM Alize Ocean Racing, the first Turkish sailing team to participate in Transquadra, which is considered one of the most challenging sailing races in the world, finished the 2nd stage Mediterranean start group in 5th place.
It was stated in the statement made by the Turkish Sailing Federation that the athletes competed for 17 days in the stage, which started from the Madeira Island of Spain on January 29 and ended in Martinique, France, covering 2,700 nautical miles in the Atlantic Ocean.
It was reported that the national athletes preferred the northern route and they finished this section in 5th place without experiencing any health problems under harsh weather conditions.
The team had finished the first phase of the race, Marseille-Madeira, in second place.
