The yachts maintained in Demre, Antalya, one of the daily yacht tourism centers in Turkey, began to meet the Mediterranean’s blue waters. With the launching of the yachts, the sea began to liven up and the tours to Kekova started, which is the paradise of the world.
The yachts that were pulled ashore in October and November of last year were maintained in Demre. While the maintenance work was continuing in some of them, the ones whose maintenance was completed started to be launched one by one. The yachts, whose maintenance has been completed, are launched from the land to the sea with the construction equipment and personnel of the Demre Deniz Taşıyıcıları Kooperatifi (Demre Sea Carriers Cooperative). The final touches are put on the yachts and they are put on a sled attached to a construction machine. With the sled, pulled by the construction equipment, some yachts are towed on a land journey of about one kilometer. At that moment, interesting images emerge. Then the yacht is slowly launched from an inclined place into the sea. After a while, the yacht escaped from the sled and meets the blue waters of the Mediterranean.
Çayağzı Port regained its old days
With the launching of most of the yachts within the Demre Deniz Taşıyıcıları Kooperatifi (Demre Sea Carriers Cooperative), Çayağzı Port, which is the window of the district to the world-famous Kekova, has also regained its old days. On the other hand, the break on the land of small-scale yachts serving domestic tourists, especially blue cruise yachts, continues. Yachters’ biggest expectation is the end of the war between Russia and Ukraine. The Russians take first place among the tourists coming to Demre due to the St. Nicolaos Memorial Museum.
Tourists from all nations participate in the Kekova tour. Tourists, who go on a tour of Kekova in the spring weather, first visit the Batık Kent (Sunken City) and the Ancient City of Simena on yachts and take lots of photos and videos there. Some tourists canoe in Kekova and visit the ancient tomb by canoe. Then, during the swimming break, the tourists leave themselves to the deep blue waters of the Mediterranean and swim profusely. The yacht tour ends happily in Demre’s Çayağzı Port, where it started. In addition, some foreign private yachts have arrived in the region. Visitors arriving on foreign yachts enjoy the silence in Kekova.
