The 207 meters long container ship “MSC MALENA” passing through the Dardanelles, had an engine failure in front of Çanakkale.
The Liberian-flagged container ship “MSC MALENA” with a length of 207 meters and a weight of 25 thousand 294 gross tons, going from Tekirdağ to the port of Gioia Tauro in Italy, had an engine failure while passing through the Dardanelles.
The captain informed the Dardanelles Ship Traffic Services Center Directorate by radio.
Rescue-14 and Rescue-15 tugs belonging to the General Directorate of Coastal Safety were sent to the region.
Other ships crossing the strait were informed about the failure. The ship with engine failure will be taken to the safe harbor with tugs.
