Angolan Naval Forces Command Armament and Technical Services Director Vice Admiral Receado Francisco and his accompanying delegation visited the TCG BAYRAKTAR LST and TCG Ç-155 LCT landing ships and made technical inspections.
Bayraktar Class Tank Landing Ships
Bayraktar class LSTs have the characteristics of being the largest tank landing ships of their class in the world, while the LCT class landing ships are the fastest landing ships of their class in the world.
TCG Bayraktar and TCG Sancaktar, built by Anadolu Shipyard, were delivered to the navy in 2017-2018. They have given the Turkish Navy a very important power transmission capability.
The ships have a large interior volume, a hospital, fore and aft heavy load ramps, a ramp providing access to the upper deck, a 400 amphibious personnel carrying capacity, mine laying and collection capability, 4 LCVP landing vehicles that can move from the ship, and firepower that can destroy coastal targets.
It is planned to deliver 2 Bayraktar class LST ships to the Turkish Naval Forces in 2023-2024.
Quick Landing Crafts-LCTs
They were developed to meet the fast landing ship needs of the Turkish Naval Forces, a joint venture of Anadolu Shipyard (Adik)-Furtrans. Since 2012, 8 LCT ships built by Anadolu Shipyard have been delivered to the Turkish Naval Forces.
LCTs are designed to transport tanks, armored combat vehicles, and amphibious infantry at short ranges.
LCTs are the world’s fastest landing crafts in their class, with a maximum speed of 20 knots. It was equipped with 2 ASELSAN production STOPs with 25 mm guns and 2 ASELSAN production STAMPs with 12.7 mm anti-aircraft guns, to defend the ship’s self-defense and press the positions on the coast, and protect the amphibious infantry during landing.
