Unlike the first hull, which was finished in unpainted aluminium and delivered last year, the second in the series will sport a vibrant orange hull.
The explorer series is designed and engineered by Artnautica Yacht Design with an interior curated by the in-house design team at Naval Yachts. The second hull was commissioned by an experienced American owner and features a number of changes to the general layout, accommodating six guests across three cabins, with a larger saloon and flybridge.
“Capable of 7000-mile range on a single fuelling and designed for short-handed operation (our family). She is certified to operate to 80 degrees latitude north in the summer months. That will take us to the Arctic ice shelf,” the owner said.
Power will come from a pair of John Deere diesel engines, delivering a 7,000-nautical-mile range at 10 knots and a top speed of 15 knots, with solar panels to contribute to the hotel load. Delivery is scheduled for later this year. Also under construction at Naval Yachts is the first 25.4-metre XPM85.
