The communiqué of the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communication “Communiqué on the transition to the Turkish flag of boats located abroad or hoist a foreign flag” took effect after being published in the Official Gazette.
For the recording or registration of sea vehicles and their entry into free circulation, a document showing that they were acquired before January 27, 2017, and that they are in the country’s flag will be requested by the port authorities. In addition, a commitment will be required that the document indicating that it has been withdrawn from the registration of the country whose flag it is flying will be brought within 60 days from the date of application. If the person to whom the boat will be registered is a “real person”, the Turkish identity number will be requested, and if it is a “legal person”, the signature circular, trade registry gazette, and tax number will be requested. A document showing that the license fee or fee has been paid will be required for the application for a ship name over the internet and for registration in the mooring log.
It will be required to take the measurement values of the boat in the existing records as a basis.
In addition, for the measurement of the boats to be registered in the ship registry according to the national legislation and the registration in the mooring log, the measurement values of the boat in the existing records will be sought as a basis.
The owner or owners of the boat will be responsible for the measurement process.
After the mooring log license is issued, the owner or owners of the boat will be responsible for the measurement process within one year at the latest, according to the national legislation.
Upon the request of the owner or one of the owners of yachts, charter boats, boats, passenger, and cruise ships that meet the necessary conditions, the recording or registration by the port authority will be made on behalf of all the owners in the previous registration document. Customs procedures regarding registered or registered yachts, charter boats, boats, passenger and cruise ships will be completed within 60 days following the notification of the recording or registration of port authorities to the relevant customs administration.
“Communiqué on the Import of Ships, Marine and Inland Watercraft” has been repealed.
“The Communiqué on the Import of Ships, Marine and Inland Watercrafts owned by Turkish, Hosting a Foreign Flag and for Private Use” has been repealed.
