The General Directorate of Maritime Affairs announced the new regulation regarding the fee charged in ship sales. Accordingly, it was stated that no fee will be charged for the registration and transfer of ships and yachts belonging to natural persons by inheritance, and in case of transfer of a certain share of ships and yachts belonging to natural or legal persons, a fee will be charged at the rate of the share.
The General Directorate of Maritime Affairs, affiliated with the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, announced the arrangement made in ship sales transactions.
In the statement of the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs, it was stated that exemptions were brought from the fees collected from the citizens and that the registration fees of the ships in inheritance and share transfers were rearranged.
In the statement, “With the regulation made, the ship registration fee within the scope of Law No. 4490, In case of transfer of ships and yachts belonging to natural persons by inheritance, registration, and transfer transactions to be made on behalf of the person or persons named in the inheritance certificate, a fee will be charged in proportion to the share in case of transfer of a certain share of ships and yachts belonging to natural or legal persons.”
