The 5-storey daily tour boat, which will be built by Hasan Çavuşoğlu, a businessman from Alanya, in the Manavgat shipyards zone, for about 130 million TL, will be able to host 1163 guests at the same time. The ship, in which 1000 tons of steel will be used, will employ 50 people.
The tour boat, built with the initiatives of Hasan Çavuşoğlu, will serve 1163 people at the same time when completed. 1000 tons of steel will be used in the boat, where 50 people will be employed. The tour boat, which will have a displacement of 1400 tons when completed and launched, will have kitchens, restaurants, and bars that can serve all of the guests simultaneously, as well as playgroups for children.
“It will not be understood that it is steel”
Reminding that they built a big ship in Manavgat 2 years ago, but that ship burned down last year, Hasan Çavuşoğlu said, “Instead of rebuilding the burned ship, we decided to build a bigger, more modern ship by eliminating the shortcomings we saw. Since some opportunities are limited in Manavgat, we rented an area within the shipyard. In that area, we do the construction of the ship ourselves with all the workload. We make the ship completely out of steel. Currently, the carcass is complete up to the walking gear. After sandblasting, we will move on to painting. About 1 month later, we will launch her. After launching we will also make the inside. We will completely cover the inside of the ship with leather and wood. People won’t even know if it’s steel or not. We even put an elevator system inside the ship to make our guests comfortable.”
“Unique in the world”
Stating that they built a larger and more modern ship 2 years ago, Çavuşoğlu said, “I have not seen pirate ships used for daily tourism purposes in their category in the world like this ship. I only know of a 50-55 meter wooden boat in Spain. It’s also 2-storey and doesn’t move, she stays tied in the port. I can say that this ship is the largest in the world for daily tourism in her category. She has a capacity of 1163 guests. Our ship has 5 floors, each floor has a usage area of 1000 square meters. Only the guests use a total of 5 thousand square meters.”
“It will cost about 130 million”
Çavuşoğlu said, “We are building this ship entirely ourselves. Since there are no subcontractors in between, it costs about 7 million euros. In Turkish lira, it is around 129 million 500 thousand liras. In the construction of this ship, there is only a VAT exemption given to us by our state for investment incentives. The tonnage of the ship, including the displacement weight, is 1400 tons in total.”
