It was announced that the general cargo ship VERA SU, which belongs to Kamer Marine Denizcilik and stranded in Bulgaria last September, will be sold by auction if the company does not pay the costs.
Hristo Aleksiev, Bulgarian Transport Minister, said that they gave the ship’s insurance company and owner 14 days to pay the costs. Minister Hristo Aleksiev stated that the ship ‘Vera Su’, which stranded, was pulled into the dry dock by the Bulgarian authorities and said, “If the rescue operation costs of the ship, which threatens the Black Sea coast with an environmental disaster, are not covered by the insurer, the ship will be sold by auction. If there is no buyer on the ship, the ship can be used for scientific research.”
The general cargo ship VERA SU, which belongs to Kamer Marine Denizcilik, stranded on the Bulgarian coast near the National Archaeological Protection Area while cruising from Yuzhniy to Varna, Ukraine on September 20.
