Galataport İstanbul
With an investment of 1.7 billion dollars, Galataport Istanbul is among the most important destination projects in the World by covering a 1.2 km coastline on the Bosphorus.
Galataport Istanbul offers an ecosystem in the center of the city that combines all the possibilities and cutting-edge technologies that facilitate daily life with digitalization.
While the historical port of the city is transforming into a world-class cruise port and a new destination, Galataport Istanbul also opens the coastline to access, which has been closed to the public for years.
Galataport Istanbul offers its visitors a “breathing” healthy and safe culture-arts, working, shopping and eating and drinking experience with its many features such as accessible and low-rise buildings, architecture designed in a neighborhood concept, in harmony with the historical texture of the region, and alternative transportation opportunities.
The port, which is a source of inspiration for similar projects around the world, has an underground terminal with a special cover system, which was implemented for the first time in the world. The historical port continues to be Istanbul’s gateway to the world from the sea.
The underground car park with a capacity of 2400 vehicles also contributes to the solution of the city’s parking problem, which is one of the parts of the project.
Galataport Istanbul will host 25 million visitors annually, 7 million of whom are foreigners. It is anticipated that approximately 1.5 million cruise passengers, including the crew, will also visit Istanbul within the scope of the project.
