The Russian media reported that a fire broke out on the general cargo ship AKUA, anchored off the Temryuk Port in Russia’s Sea of Azov.
In the statement made by the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs, it was reported that a Turkish crew died as a result of the fire.
It has been stated that the ship is operated by Alkarbon Enerji Madencilik. According to the AIS map, the Turkish cargo ship AKUA left the port of Temryuk on May 8th and anchored in the Temryuk anchorage area.
“AKUA” has a capacity of 3332 DWT. The Vanuatu-flagged ship was built-in 1989. With a length of 115,89 meters and a width of 13 meters, the ship was to bring the grain load to Karasu Port.
