Fatih Dönmez, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, announced the arrival date of Turkey’s 4th drilling ship, in a statement on a TV channel he attended. Minister Dönmez stated that the 4th drilling ship will be in Turkey within 2 months.
Dönmez also reminded that the ships in the Eastern Mediterranean were sent to the Black Sea, where gas exploration was carried out, “But our Oruç Reis seismic ship continues its seismic studies in the Eastern Mediterranean. Of course, we haven’t given up on our rights and interests there”.
Turkey has Fatih, Yavuz and Kanuni drilling vessels. The fourth drillship to join the fleet is 238 meters long, 42 meters wide, and weighs 68 thousand gross tons. The fourth drilling ship, equipped with 7th generation cutting-edge technology, has a maximum operating depth of 3,600 meters, a tower height of 104 meters, and a crew capacity of 200 people.
