The ship Seifjell, the first of two vessels built by Cemre Shipyard for the Norwegian Seistar, that will become the world’s largest alive fishing vessel, has launched. The sister of the ship, which will be a hybrid, is under construction.
The alive fish transport vessel, designed by SALT Ship Design, a Norwegian design firm, for Seistar, with cylindrical fish transport tanks, this 69.9-meter-long vessel will be built according to DNV GL class rules.
The new vessel will meet the increasing treatment and transportation demands for salmon migrating to Western Norwegian waters.
There is a battery for energy storage on the ship, which is designed to process the fish efficiently and without harm.
