Cemre Shipyard signed a contract to build a two-way Ro-Ro passenger and vehicle ferry for Torghatten Nord, one of Norway’s leading logistics companies.
The zero-emissions ship, designed by Norwegian Ship Design, will operate on the Bognes – Lødingen route in northern Norway.
The ferry will be powered by the onshore grid via high-capacity automatic charging connections, and will also be able to run on biodiesel generators.
The 117-meter-long ship with a capacity of 399 passengers will be built according to DNV class rules and will fly the Norwegian flag.
Torghatten Nord AS will over time replace all its ferries with zero-emission green ferries.
