KARMOL, a joint venture of Karadeniz Holding with Mitsui O.S.K Lines, one of the maritime companies, started the construction of a new powership together with Sedef Shipyard.
This will also be Sedef Shipyard’s first construction from scratch for Karadeniz Holding.
The new ship construction of Karadeniz Holding, which provides solutions to countries in need of electricity in different parts of the world with its floating power plants, is aimed to be completed in May 2026.
The ship, which will have an installed power capacity of 257 megawatts, will be equipped with state-of-the-art engines and will provide energy to the regions in need as a fast, economical and environmentally friendly solution in electricity production.
The sheet metal cutting ceremony held at Sedef Shipyard was attended by Karadeniz Holding Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors Orhan Remzi Karadeniz, Karadeniz Holding Board Member Doğan Karadeniz, Sedef Shipyard Chief Executive Officer Metin Kalkavan, as well as MOL Turkey General Manager Cem Savaş, Bureau Veritas, Seft Dizayn. , senior participants from Sedef Shipyard and leading names of the maritime industry attended.
Zeynep Harezi Yılmaz, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Karadeniz Holding, whose opinions were included in the statement, said :

The installed power capacity of the new powership, which will bear the signature of our company named KARMOL, which we established together with MOL, will be 258 megawatts and will be launched in May 2026.”
