TÜBİTAK BİLGEM completed the DG (DeGauss) System integration of the TCG ISTANBUL (F-515), the first ship of the MİLGEM İ Class Frigate project, carried out under the main contractors of STM.
Factory acceptance tests of the system were successfully carried out at TÜBİTAK BİLGEM Gebze Campus on March 16-17, 2022 with the participation of SSB, Istanbul Shipyard Command Design Project Office, and STM authorities.
With the DG systems, which is one of the most effective ways to protect against sea mines and provides dynamic magnetic trace removal on the ship, which has come to the agenda again with the war in the Black Sea recently, the magnetic field of the ships is suppressed, ensuring that the mines remain within the safety limit without causing magnetic triggering during the cruise. This prevents the mines from exploding and damaging the ships.
TÜBİTAK BİLGEM continues on the design, assembly, and production activities of the DG system for Offshore Patrol Ships, MILGEM Corvettes exported to Pakistan, Ukraine MiLGEM Corvette, and ships exported to Turkmenistan, with its studies on magnetic mine countermeasure systems for the safety of ships for a while. TÜBİTAK BİLGEM also offers the Turkish Armed Forces and exporting shipyards the ability to develop measurement and analysis infrastructures and systems with different methods for the magnetic trace management of marine elements and to activate them on platforms and bases. In this context
Magnetic simulation/removal unit design and manufacture
Product development to military standards
Ship-specific D/G System design and production
Creating a ship magnetic model
Determination of ship coil places
Testing activities
studies are carried out at TÜBİTAK BİLGEM with domestic and national resources.
