Karmarine Shipyard converted a 146-meter long transport ship into a semi-submersible exploration yacht and launched her after three years of work.
The OK ship, which was built as a yacht transporter by Oshima Shipbuilding in Japan in 1982 as Super Servant 3, was converted into a semi-submersible yacht at Karmarine Shipyard.
OK was designed by Timur Bozca. Designer Timur Bozca, who won the Young Designer of the Year award in 2015, announced that OK can submerge almost 70 percent of the water.
The converted OK in Karmarine features an open-air cinema, a sundeck jacuzzi, four aquariums, tennis courts, a car garage, and a vertical wind turbine. The boat, which can accommodate 20 guests and can be loaded both aft and sideways, was designed with “maximum comfort”.
The ship, which can accommodate a 150 ft boat or seaplane with the aid of a 40-ton crane, will travel under the name OK. The ship’s new owner’s name is kept confidential.
Karmarine Shipyard, which was established in 2015, is located in Yalova Shipyard Region. Karmarine, which provides maintenance, repair, and conversion services to all kinds of ships and marine vehicles, also builds and maintains some of the powerships developed by Karpowership.
