The Malta-flagged cruise ship ‘Europa’ anchored in Kuşadası Port in the morning. Some of the 145 passengers, mostly from the USA, who got off the ship, went to visit the Ancient City of Ephesus and the House of Virgin Mary. Those who did not participate in the tour stayed in the district center and shopped in the touristic bazaars of Kuşadası. It has been reported that Europa, which is 224 meters long and weighs 54 thousand 310 gross tons, will come to Kuşadası again in the coming days.
Global Ports Holding Eastern Mediterranean Regional Director and Ege Port Kuşadası General Manager Aziz Güngör presented a plaque to Andreas Greulich, the captain of the ship.
Güngör stated that cruise tourism will gain speed in April and said, “The dark clouds have dispersed in cruise tourism. Cruise tourism has entered an upward trend in Turkey. 2022 will be a very important season for Kuşadası.”
