NAVTEK, which changed the rules of the game by signing the world’s first electric and zero-emission tug, ZEETUG, received its third award with this project.
NAVTEK, which won the Gold Award for Green Apple’s Best Practice Engineering and Production for the Environment in 2020 and the Gold Award for the Best Tug in 2021, this time brought the Green Apple Green World Ambassador Gold Award to Turkey.
The company said in a statement, while the team received their award at a ceremony held at Dubai High Technology College, “NAVTEK is proud to be the GREEN WARDS 2021 Gold Winner in engineering and manufacturing and contribute to the goal of a greener world.”
Navtek, a maritime design, and technology company for more than 40 years, which created the world’s first zero-emission tug, ZEETUG, has designed and built more than 250 ships, power plants, and platforms, both navy, and commercial.
ZEETUG GİSAŞ POWER is still used by GİSAŞ.
Three more ZEETUGs are coming
GİSAŞ POWER, the world’s first electric and zero-emission tug, is coming to three more siblings, two of which are 30 tons BP and one 45t BP. The tugs, called ZEETUG and designed by NAVTEK, are built at GİSAŞ & NAVTEK BOATYARD (ZEETUG FACTORY) according to the rules of Türk Loydu. All three tugs are expected to be delivered to GISAŞ in 2022.
