New vehicles have joined the sea taxis, the new generation and environmentally friendly vehicle of Istanbul residents. 15 vehicles, which were completed at the Haliç Shipyard, launched in the sea. The total number of sea taxis was 25. The new vehicle of the city, which started to transport its first passengers with 10 vehicles, started to serve with a total of 25 vehicles, with 15 more launching in the sea.
The sea taxi, which was introduced by Ekrem İmamoğlu, the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), on September 24, 2021, has added new vehicles to its fleet.
Sea Taxis are specially designed to be used by disabled people, families with baby carriages, and cyclists. It provides service at 50 points and piers. In addition to the 46 piers of the City lines, Galataport Istanbul, Haliç Congress Center, İstinye Boat Park, and Tarabya Boat Park berthing points can receive passengers.
In service 24/7
Sea taxis with a capacity of 10 passengers, which can be used 24/7, can be called with the application. IBB DENIZ TAKSI application can be accessed from the Apple Store for IOS operating systems and from the Play Store for Android operating systems. Passengers can make reservations by choosing the piers, date, and time they want to travel to.

The names of the sea taxis, all of which are composed of bird species living in Istanbul, are as follows,
