Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc. (STM) will bring Türkiye’s first national frigate TCG ISTANBUL, the STM500 submarine designed with national resources, as well as tactical mini UAV systems KARGU, ALPAGU, TOGAN to the sector at SAHA EXPO.
According to the statement made by STM, the SAHA EXPO Defense, Aerospace and Space Industry Fair, which will be held by SAHA İstanbul and the largest industrial cluster of Europe and Türkiye, at İstanbul Expo Center on October 25-28, 2022, will bring together the main contractors of the domestic and national defense industry, giant companies of the defense industry, and suppliers.
STM will attend the fair, where the most advanced technologies will be exhibited, with its innovative and national products. STM, the main contractor of Türkiye’s first national frigate, TCG ISTANBUL (F-515), will exhibit the small-sized submarine STM500 at SAHA EXPO, which it designed with national resources and started production recently. In addition to the STM500, the company will present the MİLGEM I Class Frigate, the Pakistani Marine Supply Tanker, and the CG-3100 Coast Guard Ship to the taste of the participants. STM will bring together its systems that have proven themselves successfully in the combat environment in the field of tactical mini UAV systems with the industry at the fair.
Türkiye’s first mini-strike UAV KARGU, which has been used effectively in the field for more than 4 years by Turkish security forces and exported to different geographies, the lookout UAV system TOGAN, which has recently started working in the TAF, and the fixed-wing striker UAV system ALPAGU, which will enter the TAF’s inventory at the end of this year, will take their place at the STM stand.
A new tactical mini UAV product
STM’s General Manager Özgür Güleryüz, whose views were included in the statement, stated that SAHA EXPO has a critical place in demonstrating the independent production power of the Turkish defense industry.
Stating that companies with high technology and strategic importance in the defense, aerospace, maritime, and space industries and their products will come together at SAHA EXPO, Güleryüz said, “As STM, we will bring together our innovative and national systems in the field of military, maritime and tactical mini-UAV systems with the participants at the fair. Following our national pride, KARGU, which was successfully used by the Mehmetçik and sister countries, we added our UAV the BOYGA, which left ammunition this year, and our lookout UAV the TOGAN to the inventory. In addition to these products, each of which has serious export potential, our ALPAGU will start its duty this year. At SAHA EXPO, we will also have a new surprise that will make a lot of noise in this field.”
Meanwhile, SAHA EXPO 2022 will also host a panel titled “The Future of Unmanned Naval Systems and Türkiye’s Potential”. At the panel to be held on October 27, Türkiye’s potential in this field will be discussed.
