In his speech at the ceremony of the delivery of 2 tugs produced by SANMAR Shipping and the launching of 1 tug, Minister Varank said that although they seem small, tugs are very high-tech vessels that can tow ships of very large tonnage, perform very important functions, and participate in firefighting and rescue efforts.
EXPORTED TO THE WHOLE WORLD
Stating that these ships are produced in Yalova and exported to the whole world, Varank said that they are proud and continued as follows, “Now, at the point, we have reached, we see that our shipyards, engineers, technicians, loyal and hardworking laborers can produce the most technological ships in the world.”
Pointing out that the world’s most technological fishing vessel was launched from Yalova before, Varank emphasized that ships that can be called “factories” are built in the city.
INVESTMENT AND PRODUCTION
Stating that they are determined to develop the country with investment and production, Varank said, “The yellow and dark blue ship will go to Peru from here. The other ship will be used in our country and will go to İzmir, Aliağa, but another ship in the Aliağa fleet will be exported abroad. This is what Turkey means, growing by producing and exporting. Hopefully, we will continue to support our ship industry as the Ministry of Industry and Technology. With all the means at our disposal, we will continue to support the sector by providing them, how we can develop this field in the mobility sector, how we can support the needs of this sector from machinery to navigation systems and electronics, and by facilitating the construction of these ships with the incentive certificates we provide.”
After his speech, Minister Varank, who examined the tug that would go to Peru, then got on the tug that would go to Aliağa with his companions and sailed.
