The Bogacay XLIII, purchased from Sanmar Shipyards and renamed as SAAM QUIBIAN by her new owners, has arrived at her new home, Port of Manzanillo.
The tug will work with her six sisters and includes Canadian design company Robert Allan’s special design for the ElectRA 2200SX.
The tug, which will support SAAM Towage’s activities in the Colon region while serving in the Panama Canal, takes her name from the Caribbean province of Veraguas during Christopher Columbus’ fourth voyage.
The tug that was purchased from Sanmar Shipyard, SAAM QUIBIAN provides safe maneuvering thanks to her compact design.
The 24-meter vessel boasts 70 tons of bollard pull and has two main engines. She also has the “Fire-Fighting 1” class notation thanks to her fire-fighting pump.
