The Suez Canal is one of the important trade routes between Asia and Europe, it also connects the Mediterranean to the Red Sea. Chairman of the Suez Canal Administration, Osama Rabie, announced that 80 ships passed through the Suez Canal on Monday, a total of 5.4 million tons of shipments were made through the canal, which is a record in the number of daily ship crossings.
Rabie said that, 45 ships with 2.9 million tons of cargo passed through the canal from the north, while 23 ships with 2.5 million tons of cargo came from the south.
