The autograph session of Özcan Mutlu, who was a member of the Berlin state assembly as a member of parliament between 1999-2013, was a federal deputy for the 18th term between 2013-2017, was awarded the Kybele Award of the Turkish-German Friendship Federation (Deutsch-Türkische-Freundschaftsföderation), and was elected a member of the German UNESCO commission in 2020, will be held in Setur Marinas Kuşadası.
Özcan Mutlu
Özcan Mutlu is a Senior Mercator-IPC Researcher for 2018/19. Mutlu served in the German Parliament on behalf of the Green Party between 2013 and 2017. During his deputyship in the German Bundestag, he served on the Education Committee and the Research and Technology Committee and was the citizen participation rapporteur of the parliamentary group. Özcan Mutlu, a member of the Green Party since 1990, joined the Berlin Local Parliament in 1999 representing the Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg region, and was re-elected in 2006 and 2011. He became a founding member of the Sister City Agreement between the Kreuzberg-Kadıköy and Treptow-Tepebaşı districts.
Mutlu has been the honorary president of the Berlin Paralympic Sports Association since April 2018. He is also a founding member of the Bilingual German-Turkish European School of Berlin and the Berlin International University of Applied Sciences. Mutlu is a Marshall Memorial Fellow at the German Marshall Fund, a young leader at Atlantik-Brücke, and a member of the American Council on Germany. He is also a young leader at the BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt and a mentor for the Deutschland-Stiftung-Integration. In 2007, he was selected as the Bertelsmann Foundation German-Israeli Young Leader.
Mutlu, who studied information technician at the Berlin Institute of Technology between 1985-1989, graduated from Beuth University, Department of Applied Sciences, Berlin Communication, and Electronics in 1993. Özcan Mutlu’s parliamentary studies and interests focused on youth, sports and education.
