The Turkish Shipowners Association has decided to work with Hyundai Global Service within the ‘Energy, Operation and Environmental Efficiency Project’ scope.
Turkish Shipowners Association made a statement on its official website regarding the maritime transportation agreement with Hyundai Global Service. In the statement;
Increasing energy efficiency in our ships in connection with IMO regulations, Reducing carbon emissions by environmental regulations,
Our ships are included in the standard letter categories to be determined by IMO regulations,
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed!
By IMO and EU norms, the memorandum of understanding was signed with Hyundai Global Service on August 31, 2022, within the scope of the ‘Energy, Operation and Environmental Efficiency Project’, to prepare and send EU MRV and IMO DCS information in the most accurate way and without human intervention.
This is a concrete step in the strategic cooperation with MoU TAB and HGS on digitalization. According to this cooperation, Turkish ship owners will be able to include as many ships as they want in this project at affordable prices.
Details will be announced soon
On all ships that want to join the system until December, installations will be completed within a certain plan and servers will be placed on the ships. Within this project’s scope, cooperation will be made for installing sensors such as flowmeters and torque meters for ships that want to perform automatic data collection.
It is anticipated that at least 15% efficiency will be achieved in the ships participating in this project.
At this stage, it was decided to use the ‘HGS Smart Ship Solution’ software with the ships that will participate in the project. Hyundai also offers a service called ‘Onshore Web Solution’.
The start of this project dates back to December 2021 by the Turkish Shipowners Association (TAB). A digitalization committee established by TAB made an intensive study for about 8 months, 8 companies were invited for this project, project requests were prepared in line with our needs before that, an intensive question booklet was presented and answers were received to understand the vendor list and companies’ products and working styles, interviews started via Zoom and 4 companies were left in the project with the first elimination, then face-to-face meetings started with the remaining 4 companies in Turkey. Then, a decrease was made to a single company, reaching August 31, 2022, and the MoU, which recorded all our previous meetings with HGS, was signed. In the next process, the ‘Standard Agreement’ will be prepared and signed and this part of the project will be completed.
All these projects will be carried out with HGS under the title of TURKSHIP DIGITAL, a digitalization brand of TAB from now on.
