A “Maritime Psychology Seminar” will be held at TMMOB GEMİMO Headquarters on May 10th, 2022, between 13.30 and 17.00, in cooperation with TMMOB Chamber of Ship Machinery Management Engineers (GEMİMO) and the Maritime Psychology Association.
The seminar will cover the topics of coping effectively with physical and psychological stress factors specific to the maritime field, psychologically scientifically reviewing the human resources to work in the maritime field, reducing the risks of accidents and deaths at sea due to human psychology, and most importantly, supporting the psychological well-being of the seafarers.
The seminar will be held between 13:30 and 17:00 and in two sessions after the opening speech. The opening speech of the seminar will be made by Yaşar Canca, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Ship Machinery Management Engineers (GEMİMO) and Çiğdem Ulukol, the Chairman of the Board of the Maritime Psychology Association, and then the 1st Session will be started. The speakers of the first session between 13:45 -14:45 are Psychologist İrem Bulut and Ship Mechanical Engineer Önder Bölükbaşı from Gemimo.
In the second session, Türk P&I’s General Manager Ufuk Teker will give information on the topic of “Human Factor in Accidents in the Maritime Industry”.
Prof. Dr. Leyla Tavacıoğlu is the speaker on the subject titled The Importance of Cognition and Psychological Well-being in Maritime. Psychologist Ferhat Yaka, Specialist Neuropsychologist Alkım Seven, Dr. Nevin Kılıç, and Psychologist M. Ali Erkuş will also attend the seminar as speakers.
