IC Çeşme Marina, built by IC İÇTAŞ İNŞAAT and managed by IC Holding and Camper & Nicholsons Marinas, won the Green Apple award once again as the International Champion at the “Green Apple” Best Environmental Practices Awards held in London. At the Green Apple Award Ceremony, Camper & Nicholsons Marinas Marketing Manager Laura Harrison accepted this prestigious award won by Çeşme Marina.
IC Çeşme Marina contributes to the return of more than 2500 poaching trepangs to their natural habitats, with the trepangs project carried out in cooperation with Çeşme Coast Guard and District Agriculture, and also allows these creatures, which act as organic cleaners, to increase the quality of the marina water. With the Squid Nest Project realized in cooperation with Deep Nature Diving Center, Çeşme Marina contributed to the development of squids in their natural habitat, and also obtained a reef from scrap iron as a transformation project, Çeşme Marina provided a habitat for underwater creatures with its Artificial Reef Project.
Bora Ergezgin, General Manager of IC Çeşme Marina, regarding the award they received, said, “We are very proud that the Green Apple International Championship is the 8th award for Çeşme Marina in general and the 3rd award for the environment. With our current projects, we aim to convey our sensitivity towards the environment on land and at sea to both our marina visitors and boat owners, and also to set an example for other marinas. We hope that with the new projects we plan to realize in 2022, we will continue to benefit the environment by increasing underwater vitality.”.
Çeşme Marina, which won the Green Apple International Championship Award, was also entitled to represent Turkey at the 2022 Green Apple Awards as a Green World Ambassador.
