The seismic research vessel “Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa” arrived at the Port of Ünye, which was acquired by the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) to be used in offshore oil and natural gas exploration, and began her operations in 2013.
The 84-meter-long and 4,711-gross-ton ship moored to the port in Ordu’s Ünye district will continue her preparations here.
The ship is used in activities in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean.
It was stated that there was about 50 personnel on board.
“We are planning wells in Ordu and Ünye for exploration purposes.”
Fatih Dönmez, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, during his visit to Ordu on August 26, said, “We evaluated the data from the seismic data we have done before. We are planning wells in Ordu and Ünye for exploration purposes. We have included that in the program.”
