RoPax ship Azerbaijan, built by Baku Shipyard, the shipyard customer of Elkon Elektrik, and whose electrical system integration was carried out by Elkon Elektrik, was selected as one of the best ships of the Baird Maritime Awards 2021.
The Azerbaijan ship, whose electrical integration belongs to Elkon, was built entirely of steel. Built according to a design developed by the Russian Marine Engineering Bureau (MEB) by the Russian Maritime Registry (KM) class rules, the ship carries wagons as well as cars and passengers in the Caspian Sea.
Besides being the first passenger and wagon carrier specifically built for the Caspian Sea, “Azerbaijan” offers several important advantages over existing ferries in the region.
Azerbaijan is 154.5 meters long, 17.5 meters wide, has a draft of 4.5 meters, and has a displacement of 10,438 tons.
