123 sailboats from 25 countries began the race after the registration days that started on October 22-23. 25 countries including the flags of Türkiye, Netherlands, Russia, Estonia, Italy, England, Greece, and America, will compete in two main groups IRC and Charter. The races, which will take place in 6 classifications in the IRC group and 3 classifications in the Charter group, will end with the general award ceremony of the race on Friday, 28 October.
In the race held yesterday, there was only one race in the IRC group in the gulf and two races in the Charter group outside the gulf. Marmaris International Yacht Club’s treasurer and press consultant Halit Meskin said, “Our 33rd week of race has started with 123 boats from 25 countries and over a thousand competitors. Although it is said that there is no wind, Marmaris has created its wind, and the races will continue every day including Friday. Prizes will be given to the winners between 6 pm and 8 pm on the evening of the race days. The final night will be held with a big party on the platform set up in the Marina on Friday evening.”
