Arctic Factory Fishing ship Gadus is the second fishing ship that Tersan Shipyard has launched for Faroe Islander customers in the last two months. The 88.1 meters long and 18.30 meters wide fishing ship will be an advanced, technologically sophisticated factory-equipped fishing ship capable of fishing with triple trawler winches.
Equipped with an on-site shrimp factory, an advanced fillet factory, and a fishmeal and fish oil factory, the ship will also have chiller holds for onboard freezing of pelagic species.
Designed by Skipsteknsik, the ship will have spacious and comfortable living spaces and accommodation for 43 people. The ship, which can carry out productive fishing activities in icy and arctic waters, is planned to be delivered in the last quarter of 2022.
Tersan Chairman of the Board Osman Nurettin Paksu said, “We are happy and proud to have the chance to work with P/F JFK on this important project. The effective date of the project was the beginning of the pandemic and this project provided us with a separate source of motivation, strength, and happiness. For this reason, the importance of the project is different”.
