Milaha and Hareket sign heavy-lift services agreement

Qatar Navigation (Milaha), and Turkish company Hareket have signed an agreement which will see the provision of integrated heavy-lift and oversized transportation services in Qatar.

Milaha said that the strategic alliance with Hareket, which provides engineered heavy lifting and transportation services, would allow it to expand its range of logistics solutions in local markets, it said earlier this week.

“Hareket works in the field of implementing complex projects in Turkey, the Black Sea region, Europe, the Middle East, and the African continent, in addition to its experience in implementing projects related to oil and gas and other major projects,” Milaha said.

Cooperation between Turkey and Qatar waxed on the boycott of Doha by four Arab nations, led by Saudi Arabia, between 2017 and 2021. In 2017, Milaha launched a new Qatar-Turkey reefer service.

In 2021, Global Ports Holding announced the sale of container facility, Port Akdeniz, at Mersin, in south-east Turkey, to Qatari port operator QTerminals.

Qatar Navigation was established in 1957 with a capital of $310m.
