Three Ares FPB-35 Coast Guard Boats, supplied by the Cyprus Turkish Peace Corps Security Forces Command, were delivered to the TRNC Coast Guard Command with a welcoming ceremony held in Girne (Kyrenia) Port.
Ares Shipyard, operating in the Antalya Free Zone, had started the construction of 122 Ares FPB-35s for the needs of the Coast Guard Command and the General Directorate of Security. The first of the boats, which have a completely original design and were produced according to the norms and rules of Türk Loydu with national resources, was launched in April 2021.
1057 of the ARES 35-FPB Speed Patrol Boats are being built for the Coast Guard Command and 17 for the General Directorate of Security, within the scope of the Project.
The boats, which can reach a speed of 35 knots, will serve in all coastal regions of Turkey from Artvin in the Black Sea to Hatay in the Mediterranean. With a length of 11.90 meters, a width of 3.76 meters, and a draft of 0.80 meters, the boats have a range of 160 nautical miles.
