Istanbul Shipyard Command was deemed worthy of first place within the scope of the “Efficiency Awards of the Year 2021” organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. The 2021 Efficiency Project Awards & TEVMOT Project Plaque Presentation Ceremony was held in Informatics Valley in Kocaeli, with the participation of Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank and Deputy Minister of National Defense Muhsin Dere. The award of the Istanbul Shipyard Command, which was deemed worthy of the award for the project called “Calibration of the Dry Dock”, was presented to the Shipyard Commander Rear Admiral Recep Erdinç Yetkin by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank and Deputy Minister of National Defense Muhsin Dere.
According to the written statement made by the Ministry of National Defense, 468 projects applied to the 2021 Efficiency Project Competition organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology between micro, small, medium, and large enterprises and public institutions and organizations.
First, as a result of individual and on-site examinations by independent evaluators, and then the final evaluation by a special jury, Istanbul Shipyard Command was awarded the first prize for efficiency.
In addition to the projects implemented, it was determined that the Command saved approximately 66 percent of labor and energy thanks to the infrastructure projects developed, including MİLGEM and Pakistan MİLGEM shipbuilding, and the maintenance and repair of the ships in the inventory.
