At Hicri Ercili Shipyard, the construction of a 3,000 tons submarine floating dock, which will serve the newly built submarines in the fleet of the Turkish Naval Forces Command, is still in progress. The top of the floating dock will have a collapsible mechanism.
The submarine floating dock, which is under construction, is being built for the first time in Turkey and will serve all submarines including the national submarines and Preveze class.
180 kilometers of cable
In the construction of the submarine floating dock, 2,500 tons of sheet metal, 480 tons of profiles, 320 tons of pipes, 38 pumps of various capacities, a movable roof and door system, 180 kilometers of power and data cables will be used.
