Tamer Kıran, Chairman of the IMEAK Chamber of Shipping, said that talks with universities and the administration continue to solve the internship problems of the students who receive maritime education regarding the sale of the Piri Reis Ship.
“We are open to a more reasonable ship”
Thanking everyone for their financial and moral support and effort since the purchase of the ship, Kıran said, “On the other hand, being aware of the internship problem of our students, we are in talks with both our universities and our Administration for the solution of the problem, and we continue to work on solving the problem with a different approach. I would like to state that it is open to the evaluation of our board of trustees if there is a suitable time and conditions for the replacement of a new traineeship, and if there is a ship with today’s technologies, which is environmentally friendly and whose operating costs will be more reasonable than our current ship.”
