Tersan Shipyard launched two new service support vessels (CSOVs) in 2023, for which it received an order from Netherlands-based Acta Marine . The ships named Acta Pegasus and Acta Herkül will operate under the French flag.
The ships, designed by Ulstein Design & Solutions AS, are planned to serve offshore wind farms. The aim is for the ships to exceed market expectations and needs with the TWIN-X ship fore and aft design, integrated passage system, 3D crane and hotel-like accommodation areas.
The ships, which are 89 meters long and 19 meters wide, can accommodate up to 135 crew and staff in 85 cabins.
Pegasus and Herkül, Ulstein’s offshore wind service (SX216) designs, also support carbon footprint reduction by working with methanol in Walk-to-Work (W2W) operations.
Efficient transfer
The scaffolding system supplied from SMST will be equipped with a motion compensation system integrated into height-adjustable towers and a personnel/cargo elevator. The 3D mobility crane with a lifting capacity of 6 tons on the deck will also be supplied by SMST. The ships’ deck designs were designed to have 500 m2 closed and 500 m2 open cargo areas. The two ships are planned to provide short, efficient and safe personnel and cargo transfer even in difficult weather conditions where the wave level reaches 3.00 meters.
