The Coaster Shipowners and Operators Association (KOSDER) held a press information conference for the Shipping Route Istanbul (SHIPROUTE-24) event, which will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, in Istanbul Divan Kuruçeşme and in which the Netherlands will participate as a guest country.
The press briefing organized before this special event, in which more than 600 sailors from around the world will participate, was held at Nakkaştepe Bridge Restaurant on Friday, July 19.
Activity; It started with KOSDER Chairman of the Board Hakan Çendik, Vice President Yusuf Yalçın Çapoğlu and Board Members Mahmut Turan, Hüseyin Uysal and Hüseyin Avni Şan hosting members of the press at breakfast and then continued with a press briefing.
An important step for Turkish maritime
Touching on a number of issues in his speech, Hakan Çendik started by thanking the press members for the interest shown to KOSDER and SHIPROUTE. He then stated that this organization will make a significant contribution to Türkiye and Turkish maritime and that they will sign this project together with all maritime stakeholders.
Continuing his speech with the formation process of SHIPROUTE-24, Çendik discussed the participation of representatives of the Royal Netherlands Shipowners Association (KVNR) in the process. With this step, he announced that KOSDER and KVNR officials were working on the event by establishing a joint organizing committee.
More than 650 sailors from 40 countries, including the Netherlands, will participate in the event. In addition, Hakan Çendik stated that BIMCO President Nikolaus H. Schües and representatives of the world’s leading organizations will take part in the organization.
Speaking about the program and scope of the event, KOSDER Chairman Hakan Çendik mentioned that experts in their fields will speak at the panel and also mentioned the networking opportunity that SHIPROUTE-24 will offer for its guests.
Finally, he added that the event, which is very rich in terms of content, will cover topics that participants will benefit from and that will shape the future of the global maritime industry.
