The construction of two of the five Coastal Surveillance Stations to be established to increase Turkey’s maritime security in the Eastern Mediterranean has begun.
According to the news of Türkiye Newspaper, Turkey, on the one hand, is looking for a permanent solution on the table in the Eastern Mediterranean, on the other hand, it continues its research in the field and carries out studies to increase security in the region. In this context, one of the five surveillance stations planned to be built by the Ministry of Interior is being built in the Anamur district of Mersin and the other in Hatay Keltepe.
Work on the establishment of the Identification and Monitoring Center and the Operations Center in the TRNC has also begun. It is stated that the operations centers will be completed in a short time.

The stations will have equipment such as security zone identification, entry-exit for the selected ship type, speed and acceleration alarm, control of the identity and navigation information of the ships, remote control system, motion detection.
